Hyperfocusing

What is hyperfocusing? Hyperfocusing, as I use the term here, is the ability some have to focus entirely on what they are writing, working on, or listening to. It is really a great asset, and one that employers would love to have ALL of their workers do.

Why I hyperfocus, everything else seems to fade away. Background noises become mute, and even fire alarms can be completely drowned out at first. Usually, if it’s something like, like an alarm, it will eventually be penetrated by my hyperfocusing.

All distractions are drowned out: it is just be and whatever I happen to be doing. That’s it. Even my thought could be directed solely at my hyperfocus point!

This is an asset that you can play up as well, and is a HUGE benefit of being an Aspie!
